Taking the pain out of the home loan.

At its media launch, Nook outlined a single goal: replace branch queues and repeat paperwork with an end-to-end platform that takes Filipinos from property search through to bank approval.

Upstart property mortgage brokerage Nook is seeking to make it easier for Filipino consumers to search for property assets to buy or rent, compare loans offered by various banks, and apply for those loans through a pioneering online platform.

"Applying for a home loan here in the Philippines can be a tedious and intimidating process. Before prospective clients even begin, they are already overwhelmed with the long list of requirements or the time they need to set aside to accomplish all the application steps. We aim to address this with Nook. We offer users an end-to-end platform, from property search to bank approvals, empowering more Filipinos to gain seamless access to the financial options available to them," Nook chief executive officer Chris Elder said during the company's media launch.

Nook allows potential borrowers to find the right housing loan and supports them throughout the application process — sparing them from having to visit different banks one by one to compare what each has to offer. Through the platform, a prospective borrower can preview the amount of monthly repayments, fees and other requirements from each bank, and even get pre-qualified for a housing loan in just a few minutes.

One platform, from property search to approval

The idea behind Nook is to gather what used to be scattered across many bank branches into a single, guided experience. Rather than approaching lenders individually, a borrower can see their options side by side and understand — up front — what each loan would actually cost them month to month.

  • Compare across banks in one place. See indicative repayments, fees and requirements from multiple lenders instead of chasing each bank separately.
  • Pre-qualify in just a few minutes. A short set of questions shows borrowers where they stand before they commit time to a full application.
  • Guided the whole way. Nook supports applicants throughout the process, so the long list of requirements no longer has to be faced alone.

Why it matters for Filipino borrowers

For many first-time buyers, the hardest part of getting a home loan is simply knowing where to start. The traditional route — gathering documents, visiting branches, and comparing offers by hand — can be enough to put a purchase on hold entirely. By moving the comparison and application online, Nook aims to lower that barrier and give more Filipinos a realistic path to owning their own home.

That ambition has stayed at the centre of the company. Founded in 2020, Nook has since grown into the Philippines' original and award-winning mortgage broker — recognised as the Awarded Best Mortgage Broker Philippines by the Pan Finance Business Awards — while working toward its mission of helping 1,000,000 Filipino families buy their own home.
