The pre-qualification process, step by step.
Pre-qualification is the first step before a home loan application. You answer a few questions about the property, your income and the loan you want, and Nook works out which Philippine banks are likely to approve you — and at what amount. It takes about 3 minutes, it's online, and it's 100% free. Here's exactly what to expect at each step.
Pre-qualification is a prerequisite for a home loan application. Before you apply, Nook runs a quick check to determine which banks suit your situation — and which lender you're best off taking your home loan from. Instead of approaching banks one by one, you answer a single short questionnaire and see your matched options side by side.
And remember: with Nook you never fill in the actual bank application or visit a branch. Once you've pre-qualified, a dedicated Nook loan consultant takes over and runs the entire application for you, end to end. Because the banks pay Nook a commission once your loan is released, all of this is free to you.
Four steps to your bank results.
From opening the pre-qualification page to seeing the banks that fit you.
Open the pre-qualification page
From the homepage, go to Home Loans in the menu and choose Get Pre-Qualified. You can also start straight from the "Check your rate" button at the top of any page.
Start the pre-qualification
Click Get Pre-Qualified Now to open the pre-qualification wizard, then work through the short questionnaire.
Fill out the wizard
Four quick sections — property, work, other details and the loan you want. Each is just a few fields; the guide below explains every one.

Finish the wizard to view the banks that fit you. From there you can apply, or talk to a Nook consultant about your options.

A. Property information
- Property value (Php) — the price of the property you plan to acquire. Because of some banks' minimum requirements, this should generally be at least Php 625,000.
- Property type and property status — if the status is pre-selling, you'll also be asked for the property developer (this field appears automatically), as required by some banks.

B. Work information
- Employment type, rank and tenure — the basics of your job.
- Your gross monthly income (Php) — some banks set a minimum here. You can increase your borrowing power by adding other income sources, or by adding a co-borrower on the next page.
Click Next to continue.
C. Other information
- Birthdate and nationality — foreign applicants should note that banks may ask for additional requirements.
- Credit card — if you hold one, banks will ask you to declare your credit card limit (and any record of negligence).
- Other investments, spouse or co-borrower — because banks have minimum salary requirements, adding any of these can extend your borrowing power.
Click Next to proceed.
D. Loan information
- Loan type and loan term — these also depend on the type of property you're acquiring.
- Loanable amount — this depends on the bank. Some banks may offer more than 80% of the property value.

Step 4 — Your bank results page
You can now see the banks that match you and choose which one to get your home loan from.
